CATERING AND EVENT SALES MANAGER

ABOUT THE COMPANY:

RMCF SFM, LLC ("RMCF") is accepting applications for the position of Catering and Event Sales Manager at its managed facility, the Rocky Mount Event Center. The Rocky Mount Event Center is an SFM managed facility in Rocky Mount, NC which is located in the eastern part of the state. The first-class facility is comprised of 165,000 square feet that will have the capacity to host the multi-courts tournament, trade shows, meetings, concerts, and community events. The facility also has a 15,000 square foot family entertainment center that has a variety of interactive games, ropes course, climbing walls, and other family-friendly activities.

POSITION SUMMARY:

RMCF SFM, LLC ("RMCF") is hiring for a Catering and Event Sales Manager who is responsible for maximizing sales revenues through tournament sales, event sales, referrals, rebooking strategies, assisting in client retention, banquet food, banquet beverage, and facility rental, net amounts received for equipment rental, and pre-sold merchandise for groups. This is accomplished through networking, solicitations, sales and attaining or exceeding the annual budget revenue goals and booking goals for all RMCF events.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • Develops a sales plan that targets specific demographics and customers to increase event and rental revenue
  • Proactively solicits new business opportunities via sales calls and in-person client presentations
  • Builds new leads to increase the size of the event client database via cold calls and market prospecting
  • Validates space availability with knowledge of food & beverage minimums
  • Crafts attractive event proposals, negotiate contracts, and event details
  • Hosts site visits and sales generating promotional events in our venues
  • Ensures networking event attendance and membership maintenance
  • Maintains event calendar to achieve maximum booking at all facilities
  • Works closely with the operations team to create the most logistical plan for execution
  • Builds accurate and complete event orders including complete and easy to execute setup and timelines for each event
  • Verifies all supplies are readily available, on-premise and organized per management request
  • Coordinates with service managers to ensure accurate staffing
  • Serves as guests primary POC to guarantee all needs are met and expectations are exceeded
  • Serves as MOD when needed
  • All other duties assigned by the General Manager

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree (preferred) and 6 years of related experience in sales, preferably in the hospitality/service industry, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • At least 3 years of managing a sales department or team
  • Strong sales skills and training required
  • Proficient in computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel and CRM
  • Adequate time management, organization and prioritization skills with the ability to work with little or no direct supervision
  • Excellent customer service orientation and focus on customer satisfaction required
  • Strong leadership and people skills, plus the ability to build and foster a team environment desired

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

  • Working environment is fast-paced
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 20 lbs. infrequently
  • Limited exposure to physical risk
  • Limited physical effort required
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment
