King Abdullah Economic City ("KAEC") (https://www.kaec.net) is a brand-new city within Saudi Arabia that shares a coastline with the pristine waters of the Red Sea. KAEC has been in development for over 10+ years and is a landmark project that is establishing a new way to live, work and play. The city will have everything at your doorstep: brand-new modern living for all phases of life, a state-of-the-art Family Medical Center, a world-class educational experience at the World Academy Smart School, hotels, family leisure facilities, a 5-star golf course, movie theater, commercialized retail, dining and more. Within the city is Esmeralda, opening in 2019 and is the premium sports and leisure club located in the heart of KAEC that will offer a wide range of impressive facilities suitable for all ages. The club will contain a fully equipped gym, climbing walls, spa facilities and treatment rooms, pools, bowling alley, running track, tennis courts, snack bar, meeting rooms, personal trainers, kids' programs, sports programs, events and more! Esmeralda is a destination within itself and will be the focal point for the KAEC community!

Sports Facilities Management, LLC is working in partnership with Apex Management, the management company of Esmeralda, to find a talented General Manager to lead the pre-opening and management of the premium sports and leisure club. The General Manager will work with and report to the Apex Management team.

The General Manager ("GM") will provide day-to-day leadership and direction for the facility and its staff of 100+, as well as oversee the Pre-Opening and implementation of the annual business plan and sales forecast. The GM will be responsible for the financial performance of the facility, quality of service, team satisfaction, customer retention, new business development, and new program innovation. Other responsibilities will include nurturing and developing the team, as well as, continuous evolution of all products and services to ensure that we are consistently exceeding the expectations of our guests.

 

A few desired qualifications for this role include:

  • A minimum of 15 years of management/business leadership experience, preferably in the fitness, sports, recreation and/or entertainment and hospitality industries
  • Prior responsibility in daily P&L management and budget oversight responsibility of $15MM USD or greater; prior experience managing a sales team with revenue goals of $10MM USD or more
  • Senior Level Experience in a large multi-purpose arena or facility
  • Programming knowledge of various sports leagues, clinics, and tournaments
  • Skilled at identifying and creating opportunities to deliver quality and revenue goals
  • Prior experience in contracting or overseeing/managing others who sold corporate sponsorships, birthday parties, tournaments, leagues, camps, parties, corporate events, and team building and other related services
