FACILITY OVERVIEW

Located in Branson, Missouri, Ballparks of America is an international baseball tournament destination. Our signature features include on-campus stay and play suites and two-thirds scale replicas of 5 classic American ballparks, complete with the dimensions and elements that make each of these iconic stadiums unique. The latest technology in synthetic turf on all fields at the facility provide the most consistent playing surface throughout the summer season, complete with covered dugouts, bullpen areas, Musco lighting and stadium-style seating at various fields creating an MLB experience for visitors across the globe. POSITION SUMMARY

The Operations Manager will be responsible for the management of the operations of the facility including but not limited to housekeeping, retail, adventure/climbing area, arcade, executing events and food & beverage operations. The Director of Operations will also work closely with other departments to manage staff scheduling and training.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participating in planning/strategic meetings
  • Participating in the acquisition & training of staff
  • Developing/integrating facility management software
  • Developing the operational schedule maintaining adequate staffing numbers
  • Leading facility program schedule development
  • Works with the operations team to manage venue communications and associated services (catering, event production, staff, dorms, health & safety, etc.) Directs coordination of activities to prepare for events
  • Oversees front-line managers/supervisors to ensure compliance with SFM Policies and additional applicable laws.Coordinates and integrates all other operations within an event and any assigned sites
  • Participates in planning/strategic meetings
  • Participates in effective communications with event owners pre and post event
  • Oversees the administration and high level of detail required in the organization of events
  • Assists HR Director with labor law compliance and adherence to SFM corporate policies and procedures
  • To be on site at events and take responsibility for the various aspects of managing personnel and production
  • Assist with contracts for relevant vendors while building a good working relationship
  • Build a good overall knowledge and understanding of the events in the company portfolio, their operational aims and their revenue streams
  • Close liaison and communication with other departments within the events team including marketing and sales, facilities, food and beverage and guest services
  • To maintain high levels of customer service and professionalism in all areas of work
  • To ensure that all Health & Safety measurements are in place
  • Assist with daily operations to ensure quality control, expense management, security and, facility maintenanceAssist finance manager implementing proper cash handling procedures 
  • Assist sales manager with proper communication with the venues from contracts and dates to all onsite logistics
  • Assist General Manager with fiscal year budget and forecasting
  • Responsible for managing events, ensuring deadlines and budgets are adhered to
  • Ensure proper reporting of inventory
  • Lead cross-functional teams
  • Hire, train, and educate staff on proper event and safety procedures.
  • Analyze event performance and prepare metrics presentation
  • Promote company culture and expectations to staff
  • Ensure staff is adequately prepared for event
  • Work with General Manager and Finance Manager to develop KPI reports
  • Contribute to Facility Business Plan and execution
  • Give final operational approval for event set-up
  • Responsible for orientation and training of new team members
  • Oversight of food and beverage department
  • Serve as Manager-on-Duty during events
  • Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • A bachelor's degree in recreation, sports management or related field and 3-5 years appropriate experience, required
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, problem solving and negotiating skills
  • Must be a team player
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Must be able to work a flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends, holidays and long hours)
  • Must possess current CPR/FIRST AID certifications or must be willing to obtain them within a specified period of time
  • Prior responsibility in daily P&L management and budget oversight

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must be able to lift fifty pounds (50) to waist high
  • May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time whether indoors or outdoors, and squat, stoop or bend
  • Will be required to operate a computer
  • Must be able to work in varying weather conditions
  • Facility has intermittent noise
